Crafting premium windows for Australian homes since 2009
Satin Frame began in a small Melbourne workshop with a straightforward mission: manufacture windows that Australian homeowners could trust for decades. After years of working in the construction industry and witnessing the frustration caused by imported windows that failed within years of installation, our founder Marcus Chen decided enough was enough.
That first year, we produced just 127 windows. Each one was built with the same care and precision we apply today. Word spread among builders and architects who appreciated that finally, someone was making windows designed specifically for Australian conditions—not adapted from European or American designs that struggled with our unique climate challenges.
Fifteen years later, we've grown to a team of 47 skilled craftspeople operating from a purpose-built facility in outer Melbourne. Our production capacity has increased dramatically, but our commitment to quality hasn't shifted by a millimetre.
Every component is tested and verified before assembly. We reject more materials than most manufacturers ever inspect. This costs us time and money, but it's the only way to guarantee the performance we promise.
Our windows are designed, engineered, and built in Australia. This isn't about nationalism—it's about understanding Australian conditions, supporting Australian jobs, and maintaining direct quality control.
We don't just sell windows and disappear. Our relationships with customers often span multiple projects over many years. Your satisfaction determines our reputation, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Our manufacturing facility spans 4,200 square metres in Dandenong South, equipped with precision CNC machinery for frame cutting, automated glass cutting stations, and climate-controlled assembly areas.
We invested heavily in dust extraction and air filtration systems—not just for product quality, but because our team deserves a healthy working environment. The same attention to detail we apply to windows, we apply to everything.
Tours of our facility are available for architects, builders, and interested homeowners. Seeing how your windows are made gives you confidence in what you're buying.
The average tenure of our manufacturing team is 8.3 years. In an industry with notoriously high turnover, this stability speaks volumes about our workplace culture and the pride our people take in their craft.
We run an apprenticeship programme that has trained 23 window fabricators over the past decade. Several of our current supervisors started as apprentices, learning the trade from the ground up.
When you buy from Satin Frame, you're supporting skilled Australian workers who care deeply about the quality of their output.
